BCH - Discussion for the BTC Bros

Alright.. The point of this post is to start the discussion around BCH vs BTC and their futures. No negative sentiment or “feelings” have a place here.

BTC - I’ll start with LN and the issues I foresee. LN nodes can be ran by anyone. While this current system might bend around the issues with transactions fees, eventually large companies will fall in line with their nodes of choice for LN. This will force anyone doing business with said company to comply with their LN nodes rules. KYC will be required as part of the SEC requirements. Why is this any different than the current banking system?

IMO settling for a layer 2 or “off chain” method is not optimal. These transactions are essentially done on paper. Seems to me we’re providing a market for companies (Lightning Networks) that doesn’t NEED to exist. The purpose of P2P is to remove the layers of financial institutions, not add to them.

BCH - from the perspective of BTC, why is BCH inferior? The takeover of Blockstream and implementation of Segwit was NOT done by the Nakamoto Consensus. BCH was forked prior to the roll out, saving the original blockchain. I’m just curious why we were told to settle on a decision that was not voted on according to NC. LN opens Pandora’s box for future layers and institutions to control the market IMO

Friendly discussions only. If we are to keep this dream alive we must be open to other opinions and POVs. Challenge your ideas to build a better future.
