Better than nothing
I was cleaning out old emails and found a receipt from CoinJar dated November 19, 2013. I had 0.6 BTC. I was there. I was early. I was literally holding the winning lottery ticket.
Did I hold? No. I sold it for peanuts because I was a broke student.
But wait, it gets funnier. I also an email fom that same week of staring at a "Confirm Buy" screen for another 1.77 BTC and just... not clicking it.
And because I apparently hate money, I kept going. In 2017, I had another 0.17 BTC. Sold it for some fun at a festival. Then, the grand finale: In early 2021, I FOMO'd back in with $800. Then I panicked in March 2022 and sold it for like $690 because I was in between jobs. I literally bought the top and sold the bottom. My financial strategy is apparently "buy high, sell low, repeat until broke."
So here I am in 2026, staring at a chart that says my old 0.6 BTC would be worth $76,000 today.
But you know what? Screw it.
I have exactly $20 to my name that I can invest. I'm doing it. I'm buying the $20. I don't care if it's pathetic. I'm tired of being the guy with the "I almost" story. I'm officially back in the game, even if my stack is dust.
Then I'll put in another $20.
And then maybe $100.
The second best time is now, right?
