BTC Mining in college: recommendation.

I'm going to college next year and my electricity is free. I want to invest in an Etherium or BTC mining rig so I can take advantage of this. My school however, got rid of the ethernet access in dorms, so it will have to be wireless. Any good options? Budget is around $1000.
