Buying Without Exchange?

I just found out that I can buy Bitcoin directly from my Trezor Safe 5. I’m assuming that this transaction bypasses the need for exchanges like Crypto.com, which in turn, allows me to purchase Bitcoin for a bit cheaper, since there is no spread. Does anyone else do this?
