Can we stop referring the split as a blocksize debate?
The more I think about the chainsplit the more I believe that the blocksize debate was a red herring.
For lack of a better term "The Powers That Be" tried their hardest to stop Bitcoin for years leading up to the blocksize wars by banning it, over regulating it, among other things. TPTB quickly realized that Satoshi created a set of incentives that allowed the network to propagate itself and be resilient to bad actors. The only vector left to attack was the human, aka user side. This was accomplished through the developers by having them cap the blocksize.
The capping was sold as a technical limitation but after years of discussion it is fairly settled that current tech can support much larger blocks and there is no evidence that tech will not be able to keep up with the Bitcoin network anytime soon. So what is the cap really for then?
The cap is an attack on the user of Bitcoin. By capping the blocksize an artificial fee market is created. This fee market skews the incentive balance and ensures that miners will mine the blockchain that coincides with the parameters dictated by the development team. Additionally it makes the chain the most secure thus ensuring that any large investment is attracted to it out of safety. Lets not forget, now that this fee market is in place, the development is controlled and can be manipulated to an end.
This fee market has also misaligned the delicate incentive structure of Bitcoin. Users are now disincentivized to transact in the coin thus lowering the velocity of the coin. As the velocity lowers price will rise and along with it the fee rate. The higher the fee rate goes the fewer UTXOs there will be that are even able to transact, bricking more coins and continuing the feedback loop. The feedback loop of higher prices and higher fees ultimately allows for only the same ultra high net worth individuals and dignitaries to hold and transact on chain.
This all plays into TPTB in that the issuance of a CBDC becomes more necessary. The issuance of a CBDC will be the solution to the world debt restructure as well as the solution to the creation of a sovereign individual. These CBDCs will be the actual second layer that the plebs will be used in a circular economy. (LN/Statechain are just more red herrings to keep plebs bought in on the network and will never really work at scale.)
So the blocksize war was actually an intentional creation of an artificial fee market and an attack on the user to throw of the incentive balance to ensure that Bitcoin would not be able to spread to every individual across borders.
Call it what it is an ARTIFICIAL FEE MARKET
