Creating NFTs on SmartBCH

Hi /r/btc! I'm part of a blockchain group at a state university in the US and we're looking into creating our own NFTs for certificates (and whatever else). Ethereum's gas costs can be somewhat prohibitive and we have members looking into the ease of creating NFTs on other networks. My personal experience outside of base-layer cryptocurrency is limited, if anyone would be so kind as to point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated!
