Decentralised bridge from BCH to sBCH

Just read that this will be coming this year and it's great news BUT: Why aren't we in the meantime making use of what's already there?

Decentralised bridges between EVM-compatible chains are already possible and RenBCH already allows to trustlessly move between BCH and EVM-compatible chains. So it seems all parts are already there.

All left would be some RenBCH-sBCH liquidity on smartBCH and we would be good, it seems.

Edit: Is there any outlook when any Eth L2 smartBCH bridge might come?
