The Canadian Freedom Convoy is a peaceful protest of truckers and citizens speaking out against vaccine mandates and the government's heavy handed approach to curbing the spread of covid. Many feel these measures have unreasonably infringed upon Canadians' rights as guaranteed in the Canadian Charter of Rights & Freedom.
$10 million was raised through GoFundMe in support of the protesters, the largest amount ever raised on the platform for a Canadian cause.
Today at the request of the government GoFundMe has announced it is refusing to release the funds to the organizers and will instead distribute it to charities of its own choosing. This is a clear case of government and corporate censorship of money.
Bitcoin Cash and Flipstarter provides a censorship resistant way of raising money. No government or corporation can censor, freeze, or confiscate the donations made.
All funds raised will be distributed to Freedom Convoy organizers.
Who am I and why do I care?
I'm Andrew, a fully doxxed Canadian veteran who opposes government overreach and believes in Bitcoin Cash and crypto in general as a way to increase the economic freedom of all individuals. I've been involved with cryptocurrency since 2013 and have worked at Bitcoin.com as Head of Design since 2018 helping to fulfill that mission.
I'm not very active here but some of you know me well.
