Future generations perspective on Cryptocurrency

The current modern world is glued to their internet connection points. Cryptocurrency works because we make it work. We value cryptocurrency now and devalue the past forms of currency. We and our currency will eventually become the past.. Does the future value the present (their past) more or less?

My point being I see the future devaluing the very thing we are working to create. A new currency will reign supreme, what does that look like? Or does Bitcoin reign forever? Do we enter a forever exchange of cryptocurrency camps? Thoughts? Opinions? Discussions?
