I built a "Market Noise Blocker". An E-ink BTC ticker designed to strip emotion from price action.
| Most crypto apps are designed like casinos. Flashing red candles induce panic; glowing green numbers trigger greed. They are UI patterns optimized for dopamine, not rationality. I wanted the data without the manipulation. The Setup: I used a "Quote" e-ink display (originally for text) and wrote a middleware script to force-feed it Bitcoin price data via RSS. The Philosophy: Monochrome: No colors. A 10% drop looks exactly the same as a 10% pump. It’s just data. No % Indicators: My script only fetches the absolute price. No daily changes, no volatility arrows. Latency as a Feature: The RSS polling adds a natural delay. It filters out the second-by-second noise that leads to over-trading. If you treat the price as a neutral fact rather than an emotional signal, it's much easier to HODL. [link] [comments] |
