I have some BCH and I would like to test SmartBCH

I'm still a noob regarding SmartBCH and would like this situation to change. I have some BCH and would like to test some features of it. What steps do I have to take to put my BCH in SmartBCH (Is it the right expression?) ?

I'm extremely attached to the non-custodial aspect of this, so it would be much better if I could do it without putting my coins in an exchange. Is it possible ?
