I thought the concept of SmartBCH sounded familiar... now I remember why.

When I first heard about SmartBCH, the concept sounded so familiar, but I couldn't put my finger on it. I was googling around, and when I saw the headline pop-up, it immediately clicked and memories came flooding back. Back in 2019, Vitalik himself proposed to use BCH as a short-term scaling solution: https://cointelegraph.com/news/buterin-proposes-bitcoin-cash-integration-to-scale-ethereum-in-short-term.

Unsurprisingly, he was heavily criticized by the ETH community and the proposal died on the spot. If you look back into internet history, it's clear that Vitalik was a closet BCH supporter for quite some time. It's only more recently that his public views toward BCH have turned neutral / negative. I'm sure by now Vitalik has heard something about SmartBCH. I wonder what his thoughts are now.
