Is Bitcoin.com wallet secure?

Howdy lads, Last summer someone tipped me $3 worth of BCH, so I downloaded and kept the funds in the Bitcoin.com wallet, as the amount was not that significant I did not think much of the apps's security.

However that $3 is now $16, and meanwhile my country has shit the bed economically, so $16 is quite the amount given the local currency's devaluation.

So I would like to make sure I keep that amount someplace secure.
