Is the PM Merz in Germany up to something awful towards HODLers?

Just saw the Spiegel report yesterday that german officials have apparently finalized a plan to abolish "§23 EStG" — the 1-year holding period that's been the foundation of how everyone I know thinks about their stack. Cabinet vote expected within days. Effective from the next tax year.

EU seems to be eager to follow? What a shitshow.
