Let's verify: Did fundme.cash give out a wrong address to someone who pledged?
I hope we can jointly evaluate the claim made by u/WinterBCH who posted the following in r/BitcoinCash (and some comments in another thread making the same claim).
Fundme.cash gives wrong address to the persons who will pledge in your project. I experienced this.
Quoting that post:
I make a campain using one site and it is fundme.cash if someone pledge my project. I refered to my friend and he/she send 3BCH on it.The project of site provide their own bch address and if you want to send on it. You can get the BCH when your project is done.
My friend send me to the project now and I checked its zero BCH. I ask him what address they send they said the project address but when I checked it the fundme.cash give a wrong address. What a big loss for me, my friend keep saying they send and has proof of transactions but the true is wrong address the site provide.
So sad that my project goes useless becaue untill it end its zero and the important is they have no trust to me now. What a big of BCH is that was go to other addresses.
I contact fundme.cash in telegram they keep saying my friend send a wrong address. But I send them the screenshot. Then when I keep explaining they blocked me in the Telegram.
I don't understand everything that's written there, but I asked for some details to verify (transaction id, addresses, screenshot of Telegram).
As I understand, WinterBCH is talking about some telegram of the fundme.cash site.
Is anyone else with access to that Telegram able to corroborate the story with some screenshots from that incident?
Let me conclude by saying that the point of using a blockchain, esp. for fundraising, is that everything is verifiable. That does not mean we need to personally identify anybody. Just the basic level of making sure that things actually happened. This should be the basic standard before we give money to anyone.
