Miner-validated tokens on BCH are coming. The powers-that-be will try to split the community on this issue. Do not fall for it!
We are starting to see some healthy debate around tokens, including the two main proposals, either of which could be implemented in May 2022 with enough research and testing: Group Tokenization (advocated by u/gandrewstone) and CashTokens (advocated by u/bitjson).
Both proposals seem pretty cool and feasible. No doubt they each have different trade-offs. People in the community should look into both proposals, engage developers, ask questions, and add to the debate. This can and should be peaceful. I am fully confident Andrew and Jason are both top-notch developers and amazing human beings. I am sure they don't see each other as enemies and we shouldn't perceive them as such. This debate should happen without fear and with kind feelings on all sides. Eventually we can find consensus on one (or both?) of these proposals and start to move forward so that BCH can really start doing some amazing things with tokens without interfering with BCH's amazing electronic cash properties.
But make no mistake. Those that are heavily invested in the status quo, try to dillute the power of cryptocurrencies, and cripple blockchains will most certainly try to make this debate into a wedge to split our community, just like they did leading up to the BCH fork, the BSV fork, and the ABC fork. They will try to make us see each other as enemies, make us hate each other, and divide us. They will unleash untold amounts of trolls and disinformation campaigns.
Don't fall for it. Don't let yourself hate. Just be calm, learn all you can, and dispassionately debate the issues. Look up "consensus decision-making" and learn everything you can about it.
If someone is making nasty accusations or slamming one side and antagonizing people, look at their post/comment history. They're probably just trying to cause trouble and make the BCH community look bad. It's also possible there are sleeper agents in here - people who have been trying to fit in and gain respect only to "activate" at a critical moment to sow discord.
If you see anyone actively trying to divide the community by disrupting the healthy debate with anything less than respectful comments and contributions, consider them a troll, politely identify them in your response for the sake of others, downvote them, and move on.
We've gotten through some hard times in here and we are stronger than ever. We can get through this and make BCH better than ever!
