Old mining, new mining.

Old mining, new mining.

Long time fascination with all things mining. The tools, the techniques, the lifestyle. And of course exploring abandoned mines whenever & wherever I can access them.

A couple of items sitting on my desk at work. Geode diorama depicting classic hard rock mining. And a Bitaxe, humming quietly while it hashes away in the hope of finding a new block. I'm well aware the odds are close to zero. But there's always a chance. Fingers crossed. Costs only pennies a day to operate, and it's fun to watch it work. Makes a good conversation piece.

Classic wisdom says very few people actually got rich mining. Most went broke & returned home. The ones who actually became millionaires were those selling supplies to the miners. Shovels, picks, pans, wheelbarrows. And of course Levi Strauss, selling heavy denim jeans.

So I tip my (miners) hat to SoloSatoshi, & hope they're doing very well selling BitAxes to aspiring miners.
