Opinions on Wallet of Satoshi Self Custody?

Relatively recently WOS made a self custody version, and I'm curious what your opinion's are. I'm thinking of switching from Phoenix due to the Phoenix 0.4% fee and liquidity costs that are starting to bug me as I accept more payments. Does WOS self custody have a fixed fee for lightning? Does it require on chain operations to open a self custody account?
