Photon mining should commence tomorrow at dawn.
Tomorrow, August 8th, a little after 9:20 AM GMT, 5:20 EDT, mining of photon tokens will commence on Bitcoin Cash.
Specifically, shortly after the first BCH block is mined after 9:20AM, the photon vault will be funded with the entire circulating supply (21M) of PHOTON. To prove there was no pre-mine, the transaction will also be timestamped with the hash of the most immediate block header in an OP_RETURN.
There is a webapp to mine, at vox.cash/energy, however, serious miners will not rely on static webapp for the initial mine, because websites can easily be knocked offline. ALL SERIOUS MINERS WILL either have written their own miner, had an LLM create one for them, or figured out the single line necessary to make the webapp mine on mainnet locally (isMainet = true). It's just changing the transaction amounts and signing a different nonce in the baton.
The initial difficulty target will probably have about seven zeros.
Once the contract is funded, there is no further dev control.
NOTE: ANYONE may spend the baton at anytime, provided they pay a fee of 8000 sats to the baton. If someone wants to do that every few seconds for several days to make mining cumbersome, that is totally permissible and expected.
The token ID will be 29972959d6f0dc766cdcb81bfaf8171c5605a64dd0a81fa46080f84ac87c9bef.
If the entire circulating supply of tokens isn't sent to the photo vault shortly after 9:20 GMT, or if the transaction isn't timestamped with a block hash, assume the launch is scrubbed and those tokens are worthless.
