Seems like minervalidated tokens are must for DEFI on BCH to flurish
If you want to have onchain token sales, Uniswap-style DEXes or "Transferable Synthetic Assets" you need miner validated tokens.
Jason Dreyzehner introduced a new solution with "Cashtokens" and makes a very compelling case for them is his latest article Hashed Witnesses: Build Decentralized Applications on Bitcoin Cash
Compared to previous miner validated token proposals this would be very lightweight and not severely impact scalabilty but would require a new transactiontype. It's definately worth a read and a very exciting idea. It also doesn't mean abandoning the efforts made on SLP as they can be made compatible with some modifications and can transition over.
It's not a payments OR DEFi, BCH can do and should try to do both.
This idea would enable BCH to do the cool things on ETH but without the inefficencies and associated high transactioncosts. The article articulates the differences between the two paradigms very well.
Love that there's lots of cool and interesting ideas to enable awesome usecases in the BCH community and great open discussion about them!
