Sparrow Wallet scam. I knew better but I need to get this off of my chest.
I've been a hodler (ColdCard) for 3 years and fell for a scam - I survived Celsius and Blockfi so there's that. I used Sparrow Wallet for a watch only wallet and was trying to move it a new computer. I reached out to the official Sparrow Wallet telegram group for support and somehow got sidetracked into another group. They directed me to a fake sparrow wallet website: sparrow-firmware.com/en/en. I don't know why but I fell for entering my 24 words - I was in a hurry and not focused, again I should have known better. Anyway, my wallet was drained in seconds (.64 BTC) and I started receiving multiple telegram calls on my phone. I knew I was toast. They then tried to convince me that it was a software issue and could help "revoke" the transaction. Asked me to go to this website (another scam): desk.sparrowtxt.com to help recover my funds. It was a gut wrenching, sick to the stomach feeling. I filed an IC3 complaint (not sure if being over 60 helps) and I know my stack is gone for good. I've decided to stick to BTC ETF's from now on. Here's the wallet that drained my BTC on July 16th: bc1ql40xgvw4zmfrc9u7qy46n0e3pl2nfrv9ydjuqu. I looked up the "who is" domain info, one site is registered in CA and the other one in India. It would be a shame if one of these sites came under a DDoS attack or better yet they became a ransomeware victim. I was kicked out of the Telegram group but it's still active (registered with another phone number). I hope someone can learn from my lesson. I'm feeling better but poorer......
