Sponsoring E-Sport tournaments with BCH

Sponsoring E-Sport tournaments with BCH

TL;DR: We should sponsor small to medium sized E-Sport tournaments with BCH as the target group is ideal. We have the option to sponsor one this weekend! Let me know what you think.

Hi Community,

I recently had the idea that sponsoring E-Sport tournaments could be a great way to raise awareness for BCH. The main argument being that the people who watch E-Sport tournaments are already somewhat tech-savvy and thus should be a prime target group.

I thought about two approaches:

  1. Sponsor part of the price pool of existing tournaments in BCH. The winner(s) of the tournament will then receive part of the price money in BCH.
  2. Organize our own BCH tournaments. This is much more effort overall but exposure might be greater.

In addition, Twitch chat could be able to increase the price pool by tipping additional BCH during the tournaments. This would also showcase 0-conf and the low transactions fees.

I believe that the most cost efficient way is to go for somewhat smaller tournaments as it's much easier to get in touch with the organizer and price pool are smaller. Thus we could really make an impact if we add a couple of BCH to the price pool.

Coming weekend the largest Age of Empires 2 tournament is taking place. For the finals they are expecting around 100.000 viewers on twitch.tv. I took the liberty to reach out the organizer. You can read my initial message and the response below. Please let me know what you think! The amount of BCH (5000 USD) was just picked randomly by me.
