The HackSmart hackathon flipstarter campaign has unfortunately been cancelled for now.

We've made the hard decision to cancel our HackSmart hackathon Flipstarter. The price has dropped over 30% since we launched the Flipstarter campaign and realistically it just made the budget unviable for the project. We had hoped the price would stabilise somewhere higher by this point but with it so close to the funding goal and with just a couple of days left we couldn't let it get funded and lock in an unviable budget.

We have set ourselves the rule that we will only host events that live up to our high standard and unfortunately that standard was at risk in the current project.

We will perhaps try to relaunch the project bigger and better at a later date in the year and hopefully find someone willing to be a counter-party to some kind of financial hedge so this issue doesn't occur again next time. Or maybe there'll be a stablecoin crowdfunding tool on SmartBCH by then.

We are extremely grateful to everyone for supporting our project. It's quite likely it would have been fully funded. This really shows that the BCH community is there, ready support projects that bring value to the ecosystem. This is a very strong sign for the BCH and SmartBCH community.

Anyone who pledged to the project can now moves their funds as they wish. If anyone has any issues with this please let us know and we make sure it gets sorted.
