The number of Map.Bitcoin.com merchants seems to be growing at a rate of 4.76% per month
Methodology:
- Navigate to map.bitcoin.com;
- Zoom out, tally the numbers (over 8000 entries);
- Find a reference point at some time in the past (over 7000 entries 90 days ago);
- Math!
- Arrive at a likely wildly inaccurate conclusion.
It would be neat if map.bitcoin.com published some statistics and historical graphs of itself in an easily accessible location. Perhaps, someone else has a more accurate and detailed record?
Also worth noting that this represents a single piece of data from a single source. The ecosystem-wide numbers are, likely, much, much higher, but i don't have any at this time. Perhaps, someone else does?
