This is how o-conf and low fees are advantageous

I traded with a friend today.

He wanted me to send the money (the BCH) directly to his preferred exchange (where he wanted to speculate in long futures btw), but I said no, I prefer to send to your wallet first, because I think it is cleaner, I didnt' want to be involved with the exchange and their slowness.

Then I discovered that I did not have enough in my bitcoin.com wallet - I wanted to use that, because there is a slight difference between my electron cash wallet and the bitcoin.com wallet when it comes to the fiat calculation, and I didn't want to confuse him with that..

So I first filled up my bitcoin.com wallet from electron cash, then I sent him the agreed upon amount measured in fiat, and he sent the amount to his exchange. We did not wait for confirmations, why should we? My transaction between my wallet, the transaction to him, and his transaction to the exchange was done without waiting, with 0-conf

His exchange would wait for at least one confirmation, but that was conditions of the trade between him and his exchange.

If I had sent directly from my electron cash to his exchange, it would not be any faster. So 0-conf and low fees are useful for this purpose,
