To the people who say "It is dumb to trade gold for coffee" - I don't know what you did to earn your gold, but I work damn hard to produce this coffee - I will only trade it for gold.

Gold in a digital form is the perfect medium of exchange. I think its 19th century mentality to think the hassle of trading gold shavings for things like coffee is the reason why gold is a poor medium of exchange.

I kinda think its the definitive answer to "why would I spend valuable precious gold".....unless you mined it yourself, you did something to get that gold. What made your service so damn valuable that its worth paying "valuable precious gold" for? If your answer is "Well, the person who paid me was a moron to pay me in gold" - I think you have warped sense of how the economy works.
