DO NOT BUY BITCOIN CASH. There. Can we just get that out of the way?
When Bitcoin first started and people touted its benefits, no one accused those people of "shilling." It was a new technology, and the early adopters were excited to be a part of it.
Since Bitcoin Core has been censored -- both in terms of the community itself, and the ability to do low-fee transactions -- that same energy is now present in the Bitcoin Cash community. We're trying to make digital, peer-to-peer cash available to everyone.
If you don't want any of it, that's great. The point of cryptocurrency is that you get to choose your currency, not have it forced on you by central bankers.
Yes, we are trying to get people excited about Bitcoin Cash. Not because we want some speculative run-up, but because we want people to use it, develop on it, accept it as payment, and so on. Those are normal goals for a new technology platform.
Honestly, sometimes I think the 21 million coin limit was one of the worst features of Bitcoin -- not on the merits of it, but because of the type of people it has attracted.
