What is the proper way of running multiple bitcoin nodes?

I'd like to run 2 or more full nodes at the same time (yes, I intend to make them all economic nodes). Since downloading the whole blockchain takes a lot of time, I was considering downloading it once and then copying the blockchain data to the other nodes. Is there anything wrong with setting up the nodes this way? Should I let each node download the whole blockchain individually?
