Why is demand for BCH transactions so low? (0.5 tx/s)

Bitcoin Cash network can process about 116 transactions per second, but does 0.5 transactions per second (last 24 hours). So by design it currently can't compete with visa and by demand it can't compete with Bitcoin.

Can someone explain this discrepancy between aspiration and usage? It's almost 5 years since the fork. Why is the extra capacity and the lower fees not being utilized? I personally have sent WAAAAY more BCH transactions than BTC transactions. Why does the world at large not do it?

We can point fingers at BTC (S2F has failed, Store of value narrative has failed, ...) and 'celebrate' that 'failure' but the more important and much tougher thing to do is ask: Why is BCH evidently not making progress as digital cash? Why is usage so low? What happened to all that transaction demand that led to the fork in the first place?
